A banda de designava como sendo a Primeira Familia do Soul ( The First Family Of Soul ) , provavelmente para a concorrencia com os Jackson Five . A banda foi formada na cidade de Chicago , em 1965 e durou até 1976 , lançaram quatro discos de 1967 a 1970 , e esse Best Of , em 2001 .O som da banda é uma Soul Music , pura sem a interferência do Rock ou Funk .
